Livestock Judging! The FFA Senior, Junior, and Poultry livestock judging teams competed at Hemingford on Monday. The students represented Mitchell FFA very well with the Junior and Senior teams both qualifying for state competition. The Junior team placed 3rd as a team. The members of that team were: Lyndie Fillingham (7th Place), Zane Zurcher (12th Place), Jace Hendren (14th Place), and Boone Button (72nd Place). The Senior team placed 5th as a team. The members of that team were: Kate Pieper (15th Place), Max Lydon (22nd Place), Mason Pitts (35th Place), and Jake Meyer (36th Place). The Poultry judging team placed 4th but they only take the top two teams to qualify at state. The members of that team were: Josie Weiss (8th Place), Thomas Esselstein (13th Place), Madi Murphy (27th Place), and Brenden Keener (28th Place). These kids all did very well and some of them it was their first time judging any animal. We are very proud of them and look forward to how they do at State.

District Land Judging Results The Mitchell Land Judging team competed just North of Rushville today. Even though it was chilly and windy to start the day, the kids performed very well. We were very proud of all of them as for most of the team, this was their first crack at Land Judging. Garrett Lebruska lead the team getting 21st, Thomas Esselstein got 24th, Lucas Esselstein got 28th, and Jess Jenkins got 33rd. These four gentlemen placed 3rd as a team and earned a trip to Wahoo, Nebraska on the 21st and 22nd of October for State Competition. The other four members did very well Jarin Houk placed 39th, Emitt Houk placed 40th, Cash Robbins placed 41st, and Brenden Keener placed 51st. Congratulations to these young FFA members. Go Tigers!
