Mitchell Public Schools

Mitchell Families: Due to high winds and continued road closures, we won't be able to have school again today, Thursday, December 15th. Please enjoy yet another day of Family Bonding Time at home. No Tiger Cub Preschool, no activities. Please remember our road crews as they continue to put in long hours for our safety.

Mitchell Families: We will try for a 2-hour (10 am.) late start on Thursday, December 15th. This is dependent on the local highways opening to allow for travel. A final decision will be made by 7:30 a.m. but we hope to open our doors! We will operate in accordance with the roads--if they are open, we will be open! We will NOT be running buses on Thursday. Conditions vary greatly within our area. If you feel your child(ren) can't make it to school safely, simply call the school office tomorrow morning. We trust parents will make good decisions about their children. The Elementary Christmas concert will not be held on Thursday and will be cancelled. UP Days (incentive) for elementary students will be rescheduled.

UPDATE: Thursday’s Wrestling Dual is postponed to Friday, Dec. 16 at the Elementary Gym with a start time of 6 pm Remember to bring a canned food item to get into the dual. Stay safe and warm Tigers!

No school on Wednesday, December 14. We will plan on having our elementary Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 15 at 200 pm. Doors will open at 115 pm. ALL people must enter through the northeast gym doors for the concert.

Mitchell Families: Mitchell Public Schools will not have school on Wednesday, December 14th due to the continued snow and wind. No Tiger Cub Preschool as well. Let's all take one more day to dig out. Updates to follow regarding the Elementary scheduled for Thursday!

Mitchell Families: Due to the predicted snow storm for tomorrow, Mitchell WILL NOT have school on Tuesday, December 13th. This includes Tiger Cub Preschool and Tiger Club After School programs. Yes, that’s right—It’s a SNOW DAY TOMORROW!!! Events scheduled for the evening of Monday, December 12th will still be held (band concert, JH GBB, etc.) Announcements for additional days will be made later on Tuesday if needed. Mitchell Jr/Sr High School recognized Sara Taggert today! Sara serves as a OPAA Lunch Server. She delivers breakfast and lunch every day for our students with a smile. She has made great efforts to get to know our students and staff. Thanks Sara! We appreciate you!

UPDATE: 8th Grade Girls Basketball will play at 5:15 pm tonight against Gering at the Gering Jr. High. 7th Grade Mitchell Girls vs Torrington at 4 pm at Mitchell High School. We will continue to watch the weather and keep you up to date on tomorrow games.

Tiger Nation, Let’s get ready to RUMBLE!! This week our Wrestling Team will host Southeast/Lingle-Ft. Laramie at 6:00 on Thursday night. Also on Thursday night, our Tigers Committed will host a food drive to help out the local food pantry. Admission for the Wrestling Dual will be a canned or non-perishable food item. So please come help contribute to a great cause. Our basketball teams will also be in action at HOME this week as they host the Alliance Bulldogs on Friday afternoon & evening, with game times at 3:00/4:30/6:00/7:30. This week’s CROWD THEME is “Ugly Sweater/Holiday Christmas Attire” Please come and cheer on our Tigers and have some crowd fun! Go Tigers!

Girls Wrestling Results from the Gordon-Rushville Invitational. Avalina Stoner - 1st at 105, Shelbie Brehm - 3rd at 125, Kyliah Engledow- 1st at 170, Aubree Pankonin - 1st at 190. Team placed 3rd with 60 points! Go Tigers!

Boys Wrestling Results from the Gordon-Rushville Invitational. Yovani Jimenez - 3rd at 106, Uzziah Voss - 3rd at 132, Cael Peters - 1st at 195, Jeremiah Coley - 3rd at 285. Team finished 5th with 93 points. Go Tigers!

JH Girls Basketball Tournaments next week. 7th grade in Mitchell 8th grade in Gering Brackets are attached with game times. We will keep you advised if there are any changes because of weather.

Tomorrow at Home: JV/V Tiger Basketball vs Hemingford 1 pm JV Girls will play 2 quarters JV Boys to follow playing 2 quarters as well Varsity games behind the JV games

Concert DATE CHANGE! Due to forecasted inclement weather, the Jr/Sr High Band Winter Concert scheduled for Tuesday, December 13 has been changed to Monday, December 12 at 7:30 pm. Go Tigers!

Tiger Nation Let our HOME Winter Season BEGIN! Our basketball teams will be in action this week as the Tigers host Gering on Thursday with the JV games starting at 3:00 & 4:30 and the Varsity games at 6:00 & 7:30. On Saturday, the Tigers will host Hemingford with game times at 1:00/2:30/4:00/5:30. Theme nights are also back in action for the Winter Season: Thursday is “WHITE OUT” and Saturday is “BLACK OUT”. Please come and cheer on our Tigers and have some crowd fun! Go Tigers!
