MES Student of the Quarter Meal has been scheduled for Thursday, February 8 at 6:00 pm in the elementary gym.

Mitchell families: Mitchell Public Schools will have a two-hour late start on Tuesday, January 16th to give everyone a chance to warm vehicles and take extra time. Hopefully this will be the last extremely cold day for a while. Buses should run accordingly. If we can't get buses running, we will call families on the route. No breakfast, no morning Preschool. Full day PreK can drop off at 10 am. Stay warm, Tigers!

Due to Cold Temperatures: Game Changes for tonight: Mitchell vs Pine Bluffs ALL games will be played at the High School! JV Girls will start at 3 pm playing 3 quarters. JV Boys start around 4 pm playing a full game. Varsity Girls 5:30 p.m. Varsity Boys 7 p.m.

The Mitchell Cheer Team will be hosting a mini cheer clinic for any K-6 grade kids interested.  Due to the snow day please have forms in by January 16th to receive a t-shirt.  The camp will be January 19th from 1-3 at the elementary school gym. Participants will perform what they learn at camp at half time of the boys varsity game that evening.  Bring your pom poms to the camp and your school spirit. Mitchell Families: Mitchell Public Schools will have a two hour late start on Monday, January 15th due to the extreme cold and possible blowing snow in the early morning hours. Buses will run accordingly. No breakfast served, no morning Preschool. Full day Preschool can report at 10 a.m. Take a little extra time warming up vehicles and bundle up! If parents feel it is best to keep children at home all day, please call the building office to let them know.

The FFA competed at the first of three district CDE contests yesterday in Scottsbluff. The Floriculture team placed third overall and qualified for State! Alissa Hodsen 2nd, Audrey Carlson 20th, Ashton Keener 26th, Reese Sauer 28th. The Livestock Management Team placed 12th overall. The Welding Team placed 17th overall. The Ag Sales team placed 6th overall: Emmitt Carlson 16th, Rylan Houk 17th, William Pieper 19th, and Mason Pitts 24th. Overall we had a good day with one team qualifying for State, bringing our State Qualifier count up to 14 kids with two more competitions to go. Our next competition will be January 31st in Gordon consisting of Ag Mechanics, Vet Science, Food Science, Farm and Ranch Management, and Envirothon.

Mitchell Boys Wrestling Team will not travel to compete in Friday's Triangular at Kearney-Catholic or Saturday's Gibbon Wrestling Invite due to bad weather conditions.

We will postpone Hunters' Safety to start next week.
